Katie Gilmer
Katie Gilmer is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She received her Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Viterbo University in 2020. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from South Dakota State University in 2017. She hopes to create a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to grow by creating goals based on their individual needs.
Her areas of interest include substance use disorders, trauma, strengths and personal meaning exploration, depression, and anxiety. She uses therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Client-Centered focus, Strength-based approaches, and Solution-focused therapy, along with other skills integrated depending upon the needs of the client.
In her free time, Katie enjoys spending time with her friends and family, listening to music and going to concerts, volunteering at church events, and learning new hobbies like gardening/landscaping and disc golf.
