Jennifer Smith
Jennifer Smith earned her Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Cloud State University and her Bachelor's degree in Political Science with an emphasis in Human Relations from St. Cloud State University. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
Jennifer believes that clients are the experts in their lives and lived experiences. Jennifer strives to create a therapeutic approach that is client-centered, compassionate and provides individualized treatment plans. Jennifer utilizes a person-centered approach stemming from multiple theories and styles, including Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and numerous other modalities, including EMDR. Jennifer works to create a safe atmosphere of acceptance, respect, and mutual trust to allow personal exploration and vulnerability. Jennifer seeks to focus on the clients' strengths while providing them the tools and coping skills to lead a life they define as worth living. Jennifer's goal as a therapist is to help her clients reduce pain and suffering and help them realize their power and the power of their choices to create a healing and fulfilling life. Areas of interest are, Sexual/Emotional/Physical Trauma, Anxiety, PTSD, LGBTQ+, self-worth, and Depression.
In her free time, Jennifer loves spending time with her children, reading, baking, cooking, going to the lake, and going for walks.
